Geocaching : Bump in the Night Halloween Event
October 30, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeGeocaching is a gps-based scavenger hunt; there are millions of geocaches hidden worldwide! For this event, geocachers come together for a social visit, games, treats, and prizes. If you have never been geocaching before, this is a great opportunity to meet the locals and get some questions answered! New geocaches will be placed for this event, and there are several to find around the Jarrett Prairie Center.
This event is organized by Geocacher kdk9sLittleFox and sponsored by the Byron Forest Preserve.
“This is going to be a spooktacular event for all you geo-goblins! The Bump in the Night event is going to be great as Byron Forest Preserve, geocacher, is helping me get this event up and running for a great spooky fun time.
With the covid restrictions that may or may not be in effect at the time of the event, there may or may not be snacks and treats. Store bought, individually wrapped treats may be allowed. That decision will be determined closer to the event. Sorry, no homemade food will be allowed. Boooo
There will be a 1st and 2nd place costume contest for adults and kids 12 and under, door prizes, new caches and tons of fun. Possible silent auction for some really cool coins too.”
It is strongly recommended that you have a geocaching account set up before attending and that you register for the event at the geocaching website.
