Who We Are
The Byron Forest Preserve holds over two thousand acres of natural areas–prairie, oak savanna, woodland, creek, wetland, and access to the Rock River. Our amenities include a natural history museum, pioneer to mid-1900s farm, an observatory, and miles of trails.
What We Offer
We offer a wide range of sessions in many different formats customized to your group’s needs. We understand the challenges of working within time and budget constraints, so our programs are FREE for schools in Ogle, Lee, and Winnebago Counties.
Connect With Us
The Byron Forest Preserve is dedicated to the positive development of youth through encouraging personal connections with nature, developing self-awareness and ability for self reflection, and broadening the understanding of our place in the world and how we can help bring about a bright future.
