Fire Starting Skills Workshop
September 18, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeFire has been a vital part of life for thousands of years, but it hasn’t always been available at the click of a button. Learn how Native Americans and Pioneers started fires, and practice with some modern tools, as well. Watch demonstrations and learn your choices of hand drill, bow drill, flint and steel, and ferro rod with striker. We’ll be showing and using locally gathered materials, and talk about the resources available to campers, bushcrafters, and hobbyists in this area. If you wish, you may purchase for $5 a kit containing a hand drill, bow drill set, tinder bundle, and fatwood, all gathered locally (limited availability). Attend for part of the time, or stay for the whole event. Build your skills!
Ages : 8 years and older
